I wonder how well this translates to the united states....

This is so interesting after having spent five days in the woods with 18-year-olds entering Asbury College. These participants seemed so young; somehow they believed so deeply, so unquestioningly. It felt dangerous at times to be an authority figure over them as my words seemed to go a long way with them.
I can't speak to religion in our country in general. I don't know how the church is doing. But I did just meet seven young people who are anxious to prove and to improve themselves at a Christian college for some reason. I am not sure what this means for the Church in the United States.
