a humble attempt at authentic living. relying on community and conversation for holistic answers to fractured questions. trying to catch a glimpse of the kingdom coming. seeking the one who said "follow me"...
As a life long U2 fan, and a follower of Christ (hopefully not in that order), I get this song and I'm having a hard time with it too. I guess I desire for more then a wish of a "hopeful Christmas" from Bono and the boys, but perhaps that's what that what I should glean from that morning two thousand years ago, and wait, with excitement, for that other historic, paschal event. It's difficult to see Christmas as a celebration of hope for future events, and not a culmination. That said, I still LOVE the Band Aid Christmas anthem "Do They Know It's Christmas Time?". (Bono provides the best line of that song too.)
